The Osees, Black Marble, Lucius, Reggie Watts, Shabazz Palaces, and lots of additional artists are on a new Dungeons & Dragons-themed compilation generated by the Decemberists guitarist and pointed out D&D player Chris Funk. Titled Spelljams, the comp goes hand-in-hand with the newly introduced Spelljammer: Adventures In Place and is out now via Get rid of Rock Stars. “I was honored to curate this album for @dndwizards for their launch of the excellent Spelljammer campaign,” Funk wrote on Instagram. “18 bands / musicians designed song motivated by the tale line! Streaming almost everywhere now and a double LP is up for preorder @killrockstarsofficial…and certainly the address is certainly a DM display screen.”
Funk also worked with D&D story architect Chris Perkins, who is also the guide designer of Spelljammer: Adventures In Place, which includes 3 distinctive D&D publications set in place. “You know what they like on the Rock of Bral?” states Perkins, referring to a Spelljammer location. “Rock new music! The good Chris Funk has assembled a motley crew of bards to develop Spelljams—music impressed by our latest Spelljammer adventure, Gentle of Xaryxis. I encourage Dungeon Masters use Spelljams as history new music during their D&D match sessions or pay attention to it though dreaming up future hijinks. All people else: appreciate the tunes of Wildspace!”
Helping aid bringing this entire world to daily life by way of songs and the awesome artists’ visions that had been picked was an honor of a life span. I am of the impression when people today think of Dungeons & Dragons that there is a preconceived underscore of what these worlds may well audio like. With this bold return to Spelljammer we had been psyched to push the boundaries deep into Wildspace, working with artists from various musical backgrounds that could challenge what songs in the multiverse of the world’s biggest roleplaying sport may well audio like. Every single artist was specified a character or plot prompt from the storyline, then challenged to compose an primary composition centered on Light-weight of Xaryxis. We hope you appreciate the result!
